Learn video production, for free.
Free video and film production training. Learn how a shot is planned, captured, and cut, and finish with something you are willing to put your name on.
Always free. No experience required. Creator Terminal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Katy, Texas, serving the greater Houston area and learners nationwide online.
What you will work on
- Camera fundamentals: exposure, focus, and frame rate in plain language
- Lighting an interview or a scene with whatever gear you have
- Recording usable audio, which is where most first films fall apart
- Editing: assembly, pacing, and knowing when a cut is done
- Color and sound finishing at a level that holds up
- Planning a shoot so the edit is not a rescue mission
How it works
- 1
Join the community
Everything runs through our Discord. Joining is free and takes a minute.
- 2
Start with what you have
A phone is a legitimate first camera. We will tell you when gear actually matters.
- 3
Shoot with guidance
Mentors walk through your plan before you shoot and your footage after.
- 4
Cut and share
Finish a piece, screen it with the community, and take the notes.
Who this is for
Aspiring filmmakers and content creators, students building a reel, small business owners who want to shoot their own marketing, and anyone who has been meaning to learn video and never had a place to start.
Military members, first responders, and teachers receive free membership.
Start this week.
Our programs run online through a structured Discord community with one-on-one and small-group mentorship. Join, introduce yourself, and we will point you at a first step.
