Learn design, for free.
Free graphic design training and a community to practice in. Learn layout, type, and color, and get real feedback on your work instead of guessing.
Always free. No experience required. Creator Terminal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Katy, Texas, serving the greater Houston area and learners nationwide online.
What you will work on
- Layout and composition, and why some designs feel finished
- Typography: pairing, hierarchy, and spacing that reads well
- Color, contrast, and building a palette you can defend
- Logo and brand basics, including how to present a mark
- Designing for social, print, and the web without starting over each time
- Giving and taking critique so your work actually improves
How it works

Everything runs through our Discord. Joining is free and takes a minute.
- 2
Pick a starting point
Bring a project you care about, or take one of ours if you would rather practice first.
- 3
Get real critique
Mentors and other designers review your work. Specific feedback, not just thumbs up.
- 4
Build a portfolio
Finish with pieces worth showing a client or an admissions reviewer.
Who this is for
Self-taught designers who want honest feedback, students building a first portfolio, small business owners who need to make their own materials, and anyone curious about design who does not want to pay for a course to find out.
Military members, first responders, and teachers receive free membership.
Start this week.
Our programs run online through a structured Discord community with one-on-one and small-group mentorship. Join, introduce yourself, and we will point you at a first step.
